I’ve lived my life between two very different worlds, growing up in the UK and spending the last 13 years in Colombia, so I understand what it actually feels like to adapt, not just relocate.

I moved to Colombia as a teenager and went through that culture shock myself. Now, as an adult, married, and working remotely with companies in the US and Europe, I’m living the kind of international lifestyle a lot of people are trying to build.

So when I give advice, it’s not theory, it’s based on real day-to-day experience.

A lot of people assume places like Colombia or the UK are just “cheap” or easy to adjust to, but the reality is more nuanced. Where you live makes a huge difference, safety can change from one street to the next, and as a foreigner, especially American, how you’re perceived can impact everything from pricing to everyday interactions.

That’s usually where people run into problems.

Because I’ve experienced both sides, being local and being the one adapting, I can help you understand what to expect before you make the move, not after. I also bring a couples perspective. My wife and I have gone through parts of the immigration process ourselves, so I understand the kind of decisions and conversations that come with planning a life abroad together.
